The Norton Family

When I worked at The Apple Store in Willowbend a few years ago, I met an awesome fellow-Apple lover Brenda. She contacted me recently to get together for some Christmas card-ready family photos. We spent some time in the Grapevine Botanical Gardens then climbed some of the trains near downtown Grapevine.

Check out their beautiful family. :)

The Family Stone..I mean, Stone Family

I love the movie The Family Stone so I can’t help but title this post that. I was fortunate enough to meet this beautiful family and take some portraits before one of their daughters heads off to school. This family also has a new member, Oksana, who was recently adopted into the family. If you haven’t seen on my website already, I provide free sessions for any families that have fostered or adopted within the past 2 years. You can check out more info on that via my site: www.inourlifephotography.com

In the meantime, meet the Stones! :)

Well, baby Emma Joy has arrived and she’s adorable! I haven’t had a ton of time to work on the photos yet but here’s a small preview of some of them. She’s beautiful Colleen! Can’t wait to watch her grow. :)

Lewis’ Part 2

My sweet friends, the Lewis’, just had their second boy and he is a cutie! Hard to believe we took Luke’s photos over a year ago. I stopped by for a couple hours of shooting and I think we got some fun shots to play with.

Growing Family

My very sweet friend, Colleen, is expecting her second child. She is already such a great mom to her little boy and will be such a great mom to her new baby girl. We grabbed some photos before she gives birth next week. Can’t wait to meet her Colleen! :)

Isn't she gorgeous?! Isn’t she gorgeous?!

London calling

A wonderful labor and delivery nurse + a hard-working police officer = a very sweet couple who are parents to be

Here’s some fun maternity photos from my shoot with them. :)

Thank you, Cheryl, for letting me capture some moments before sweet London arrives.

3 Generations of Love

Is my title too cheesy??? Sorry, I have my moments of cheesiness but it’s true in the case of this shoot. One of our friends contacted me a few weeks ago wanting to surprise her husband and father-in-law with a Father’s Day shoot and I happily obliged. So here is a preview of the sweet Simpson family with a focus on the 3 generations of handsome boys (and a few with the (still very important) ladies of the family)!

Wake up and be inspired!

I was blessed by a very sweet friend last week who sent me to David Ziser’s Digital Wake-up Call. It was a great time of learning more about lighting, digital workflow, and marketing. There were also a lot of sponsors that offer great products which I will be trying out soon! I was also fortunate to win a door prize! Woohoo! I won the PictoColor Software iPortrait and will definitely be trying that out after my next shoot. :)

icorrect

It’s been about a week now since I attended the seminar and I am still soaking up all I learned. I was able to practice some of the lighting techniques this past weekend at a wedding and will post some pictures of that soon.

In the meantime, what inspires you photographically-speaking? For example, what do you see out in the world that makes you think, “Man, I wish I had a camera with me to capture that!” For me, it’s seeing families interact and share sweet looks and moments with each other (see pic below) or watching a couple spend time together…basically, capturing the love in the world. I know, I’m sounding all hippie but it’s what inspires me! :)

What inspires you? Please comment below!
